- Egypt and the Millennium Development Goals
In 2000, the United Nations General Assembly and 147 Heads of State adopted the Millennium declaration, a commitment to work toward eliminating poverty and sustaining development, which consists of eight Millennium Development Goals, eleven targets, and forty-eight indicators .
